It  all started  when I was 19 years old,  I landed a job as a photographer for a local portrait studio, soon made manager, but then thought... "this is cool, but what else is out there?"  So I searched and searched and  to my surprise, a job opened up in an art department that could utilize both my artist abilities as well as my photography skills. Great job but like all good things in life, the company decided to move to California and leave us out in the cold around a barrel of fire with a potatoe and can of soup on it so the fire department  wouldn't keep coming back to put it out...

Still shooting portraits on the side, I then found myself in the photography lab business, and blaa, blaa, blaa,  ended up being the general manager for one of the largest professional labs in Vancouver. Still shooting on the side, it was time to make the jump out of the never ending changes of the new digital world where everyone had a printer or simply burned a disc to give to their clients. Not much left for a pro lab to do...

It was tough at first, like any new venture, but once the referrals began to roll in I managed to sustain and  build my business to new heights. I love to photograph people... everyone is different, everyday is a new creation, a different location, different lighting... keeping me creative and never short of ideas. I am always thinking of something better to offer to stay current and fresh!  I enjoy food... and I love to photograph it too!  Getting up before sunrise to capture a scene that could adorn your walls of your office or home... you get the idea...I love photography!

... I was having coffee with a photographer friend of mine, casually talking about our next projects, I happened to blurt out..." ya, I'm shooting a baby this afternoon"... well, the woman standing next to us spilled her latte, tripped over her stroller and in mid air was attempting to dial 911 when luckily her friend spoke up and said..." no!!... he's a photographer, he shoots people with a camera".


I watch how I use that word in public now!
